The ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) steps into a new era as the first regional professional basketball league in Asia is set to open a landmark 10th season later this year.

To commemorate the milestone, the regional league has announced plans to honor the Top 10 ABL Players of All-Time. The short-list selection process has already begun as championships, individual achievements, and years of service will all be considered in identifying those who will be included.

Among those likely to be nominated are acclaimed imports such as Xavier Alexander (Singapore Slingers), Anthony Tucker (Macau Black Bears), Marcus Elliott (Hong Kong Eastern), and Christien Charles (Hitech Bangkok City, Saigon Heat, Singapore Slingers, Mono Vampire).

While standout locals Bobby Ray Parks Jr. (Alab Pilipinas), Wong Wei Long (Singapore Slingers, CLS Knights Surabaya), Mario Wuysang (Satria Muda BritAma/Indonesia Warriors, CLS Knights Surabaya, Wolf Warriors), and ABL Lifetime Achievement Award winner Leo Avenido (San Miguel Beermen, Saigon Heat, Mono Vampire) are also expected to be selected for the shortlist.

A list of the final 40 nominees is expected to be finalized and announced by next week. ABL fans will then be able to take part in the voting process via social media and through the ABL website.
