Four club teams from the Southeast Asian subzone will look to qualify for the 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup through the SEABA Qualifiers, which begins competition on May 8-10 in Nonthaburi, Thailand.

Four teams have confirmed their participation in the SEABA Qualifiers: Mono Vampire Basketball Club (Thailand Basketball League), Pelita Jaya Jakarta (Indonesian Basketball League), Red Baron (StatSports League Malaysia) and Xin Hua Sports Club (National Basketball League Singapore).

Last season, Mono Vampire Basketball Club (Thailand) and Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas (Philippines) represented SEABA in the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup, but neither teams were able to advance to the semifinal round.

In 2016, Malaysia was represented by the Westports Malaysia Dragons (ASEAN Basketball League), but the undermanned team failed to advance to the quarterfinals after they went winless in the preliminary round.

18:00 – Mono Vampire Basketball Club (Thailand) vs Pelita Jaya Jakarta (Indonesia)

All four teams will play a single round-robin format, and the top two teams of the SEABA Champions Cup will be joining Chinese Taipei and India in the next round. From there, only be one team to advance in the Final 8 round, joining the group of Australia, Japan and Philippines in the 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup.
