Mono Vampire Basketball Club made off with another major signing in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) off-season, adding world import Ryan Watkins for their upcoming campaign.
Watkins, who averaged 21.8 points, 14.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and a blocked shot per game for the Macau Black Bears last season, announced the signing on his personal social media account.
The sweet-shooting 6’9” big man will likely replace Malcolm White as he reunites with Macau teammate and former ABL World Import Most Valuable Player Anthony Tucker, who also joined the Thai club early in the offseason.
“I’m just excited to be a part of the team and the Mono Vampire organization. I’m also happy to play with Tuck(er) another year, and I think we have a team that could definitely do some special things this year,” remarked Watkins.
The 27-year-old center could also team up with Mono Vampire resident import Mike Singletary, Thai-Americans Tyler Lamb, Moses Morgan and Freddie Lish, along with several Thai National Team members in the line-up this season.
“I am looking forward to being a part of the family. I am ready to give everything I have and play as hard as I can so that we can achieve our goal of getting the team back to the ABL Finals.”
