Mono Vampire Basketball Club breaks through to earn their third win of the season as they won at home against the Wolf Warriors, 113-92.

The Thai club relied on a balanced offense to thwart the similarly struggling Wolf Warriors, who had defeated them in the first leg of their home-and-away series just a few days ago.

After a relatively close first half where the Zhuhai-based Wolf Warriors brought a one-point lead into the half, the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) runners-up came alive in the final two quarters to flex their depth and potential to escape with the win.

Mike Singletary and Malcolm White led the way for Mono Vampire in the hard-fought win. Singletary was awarded player of the game after 26 points to go with 12 rebounds and eight assists, while White added 23 points.

The local guards stepped up to aid the team in the victory as Darongpan Apiromvilaichai had 18 points and five assists, while shooting 75 percent from the field, while Freddie Lish added 19 points and eight dimes. Newly added Romeo Travis also had a successful debut with a near triple-double of 12 points, 15 boards, and nine assists.

Meanwhile, former NBA guard Mike Taylor led all scorers with 37 points, but saw his efforts wasted as the Wolf Warriors got outscored by the home team 35-19 in the final period. Fellow imports Mike Bell and Shawntez Patterson contributed with 16 points each, while Cai Chen had 13 of his own in the loss.

With the win, Mono Vampire improves to 3-12, just above the Wolf Warriors who are currently the bottom of the standings with a 2-15 card. The Thai squad will look to get back-to-back wins as they host the Singapore Slingers on February 6, while the Wolf Warriors take a lengthy holiday break before returning to face the defending champions Alab Pilipinas at home on the 15th.
