Mono Vampire keeps their ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) postseason hopes alive after winning against another playoff contender CLS Knights Indonesia, 92-76.

After struggling in the first half of the season, the Thai club has now won three-straight games, hot in pursuit of the Westports Malaysia Dragons for the eight place in the rankings.

Last year’s runners-up quickly built an early lead in the game before an 11-0 run sparked by the Knights’ Brandon Jawato, who scored nine straight points during that stretch, gave the visitors their first lead.

That proved to be short-lived as CLS was only ahead for a grand total of one minute and 17 seconds before Mono Vampire took back and ran away with the lead. Mono entered the half with a 48-32 lead.

The Knights tried to keep in step with Mono Vampire in the second half, but the lead was simply to steep to overcome for the Indonesian side.

Mike Singletary made history by becoming the fastest to score 1000 career points in the ABL after completing the feat in just 37 games. He also nearly finished with a triple-double after notching 29 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists.

Meanwhile, Maxie Esho paced the Knights with 21 points and nine boards, while Brandon Jawato led all locals in scoring with 16 points in the loss.

CLS drops to 9-9 but remains in sixth place ahead of their road game against the Dragons on February 14, while Mono Vampire (5-12) will return the favor by travelling to the Knights’ home court for a rematch on the 16th.
