Mono Vampire Basketball Club outlasted a short-handed but no less determined Kuala Lumpur Dragons side, 79-73, to string three consecutive wins to open their 2019-20 ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) season.

The Malaysian club were able to hang with Mono Vampire and even took a six-point lead with a little under five minutes remaining in the game, before Thai hotshot Chitchai Ananti helped spark a 20-8 run and completed a turnaround to secure the victory at home.

Mike Singletary led all scorers with 28 points to go with 11 rebounds and eight assists, while local guard Chitchai Ananti added 16 points off 60 percent shooting from the field. Tyler Lamb also chipped in with 15 markers in the win.

Meanwhile, Will Artino led the Dragons with 20 points and 16 rebounds, while fellow import Amir Bell added a double-double of his own with 18 and 11. Simeon Lepichev and Cade Davis scored the bulk of the team’s remaining points with 15 apiece.

The Dragons return on December 5 as they go on the road to take on the Wolf Warriors, while Mono Vampire takes a lengthy break to make way for the Southeast Asian Games and will visit San Miguel Alab Pilipinas on December 17.
