In a surprising turn of events, Mono Vampire Basketball Club have decided to part ways with world import Anthony Tucker ahead of the upcoming ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) season.

According to a source close to the situation, the former ABL World Import Most Valuable Player have been cut by the Thai club just two weeks to go before their 2019-20 season opener.

Currently recovering from an ankle fracture which he sustained during his first practice with the team, the 6’3” point guard was expected to be reactivated around mid-December. Mono had temporarily brought in nine-year European circuit veteran Preston Knowles to fill in for a month, but is now expected to take over Tucker’s spot under Slovenian head coach Andrej Urlep.

Tucker previously averaged 25.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 9.9 assists with the Macau Black Bears, before going down with the same injury during a road game against the Formosa Dreamers in Changhua, Taiwan in the latter part of last season.

While most ABL squads have already filled their import slots, it is hard to imagine not having multiple teams scrambling to acquire a player of Tucker’s caliber.
