The Singapore Slingers wrapped up their ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) regular season on a high note after defeating the Mono Vampire Basketball Club, 100-88.

Jerran Young produced a game-high 32 points, plus 10 rebounds to propel his team to victory as they halted the Thai squad’s six-game winning streak.

Young got plenty of help as four of his teammates finished in double-digits, with Xavier Alexander generating 26 points, John Fields and Ng Han Bin chipping in 14 apiece, and Delvin Goh with 11 of his own.

The game was broken wide open in the second quarter after a made basket from John Fields in the 7:50 mark, extending the home team’s lead to 29-19.

They even led by as much as 21 at one point, and Mono Vampire never recovered, nor taking the lead throughout the ball game.

Mike Singletary led all scorers for last season’s runners-up with 20 points, alongside Malcolm White’s 14 points, Romeo Travis’ 14, and Tyler Lamb with 12 in the losing effort.

Despite the setback, Mono is assured of the eight spot in the postseason and are bracing themselves to face the number one seed Formosa Dreamers.

Meanwhile, the third-seeded Slingers will enjoy home court advantage in the first round against the sixth seeded Macau Black Bears.
