The Westports Malaysia Dragons made a major roster move by adding former Formosa Dreamers import William Artino for the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) season.
The 6-foot-11 center will be arriving in Kuala Lumpur sometime next week to officially join the team, according to a report by the China Press.
One of the better performing players in the league last season, the 27-year-old Artino finished with an impressive 20.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.4 blocks, while also shooting 50 percent from the field per outing.
Artino helped led the Dreamers squad to the top of the standings at the end of the previous season, before the team suffered an unceremonial exit via a sweep at the hands of the Mono Vampire Basketball Club in the playoffs.
Prior to the move, Artino had reunited with former Dreamers head coach Dean Murray when he suited up for Al Muharraq club in Bahrain.
The Dragons will look to Artino to help them make a positive turnaround, after missing the playoffs for the past three seasons following their first ABL title win during the 2015-16 season.
