The San Miguel Beermen came up short against the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions, 91-89, settling for a fourth place finish at the East Asia Super League Terrific 12 in Macau.

The reigning Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) champions suffered back-to-back losses in the knockout round after finishing 2-0 in the group phase.

One game after suffering a landslide loss against a determined Flying Leopards team, the Beermen went wire-to-wire with another Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) club, but came up just short.

Forward Hu Jinqiu led the Lions with 31 points, shooting 12-for-16 from the field. Imports Jalen Reynolds and Aaron Jackson chipped in with 22 points and 11 boards, and 18 points and eight assist, respectively.

San Miguel’s Dezmine Wells led all scorers with 33 markers, while Lester Proster added a double-double of 16 pointd and 11 boards in the loss. Guard Terrence Romeo went scoreless in 22 minutes of play, one game after leading his team in scoring.
