The Liaoning Flying Leopards blow out the San Miguel Beermen, 111-89, to advance to the championship game of the East Asia Super League Terrific 12.

After finishing 2-0 in the group phase against the Shenzhen Aviators and the Ryukyu Golden Kings, the reigning Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) champions fell in a landslide against a determined Flying Leopards team.

Former NBA veteran Lance Stephenson led the rout of the Beermen to the tune of 35 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting an efficient 51 percent from the field.

San Miguel was able to hang with Liaoning for the most part, save for a horrific second quarter, where they were held to a measly seven-point output by the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) club.

Terrence Romeo led the Beermen with 19 points and six assists, while prolific import Dezmine Well was held to just 16, one game removed from torching last year’s tournament winners Ryukyu Golden Kings of Japan for 42 points.

On the other hand, Tunisian center Salah Mejri added a double-double for Liaoning with 21 points and 11 boards. Locals He Tianju and Gao Shiyan also chipped in with 14 and 13 markers in the blowout win.

Both teams were without key pieces, as San Miguel was without June Mar Fajardo and Marcio Lassiter. On the other hand, Liaoning was also missing two of their stars as guards Guo Ailun and Zhao Jiwei did not join the team in Macau and are taking time off after their recent stint with the Chinese National Team at the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The Liaoning Flying Leopards move on to the final against Seoul SK Knights of the Korean Basketball League (KBL) tomorrow at 1900H (GMT+8).

Meanwhile, the Beermen will try to salvage a third place finish against the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at 1700H, also at the Tap Seac Multi-sports Pavilion in Macau, China SAR.
