The Saigon Heat are getting bigger and better, fast. Christien Charles, the Heat’s big import signee during the ABL offseason had yet to see any game action as he had been dealing with an injury and placed on injured reserved.
In attempts to mitigate the team performance drop-off, the Heat temporarily signed Herbert Hill and Haminn Quaintance as their world imports to take the place of the injured Charles. With both Hill and Quaintance fulfilling their temporary duties, the time has come for Charles to step back in and try to meet the expectations that have been set from his initial signing with the Heat.
This coincides with the announcement that Horace Nguyen, formally of the VBA champion Danang Dragons, will also be joining the Heat’s active roster.
Both players are expected to play in tonight’s matchup against Alab Pilipinas. The timing couldn’t be much better as Alab Pilipinas has shown to be one of the stronger teams in the league and will be a great measuring stick for the Heat’s new-look roster.
Expect some rust from the Heat’s big man, but if he does perform well tonight, the direction of the Heat’s season may start trending upwards.
