With less than a hundred days to go before the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup officially tips off, the schedule for the games at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China have now been made available.
Angola and Serbia will raise the curtains for the World Cup as they play the first game of the tournament on August 31, Saturday. Meanwhile, Southeast Asia’s lone representative in the quadrennial event, the Philippines, face world number 13 ranked Italy in the second game of Group D.
The Filipinos play their next game on September 2 against powerhouse Serbia, before wrapping up the preliminary round against Angola. All Group D games will be held at the Foshan International Cultural Sports and Cultural Arena in Guangdong.
Team Philippines will look to try and win two games and advance to the second round, where the top two Group D teams meet the leaders from Group C.
The schedules for the second round and the classification round will be announced once the first round of the group phase wraps up. You may also view the full tournament schedule here.
The 32-team event culminates on September 15 at the Wukesong Sports Arena in Beijing.
