It was a bitter day for Indonesia and the Philippines on the third day of the ongoing FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup in China as both nations failed to go through into the medal rounds.

Despite the unfortunate outcomes of their respective campaigns, both nations ended the tournament on a winning note.

Indonesia (ranked 16th in the competition), represented by Nickson Damara Gosal, Reza Guntara, Danny Ray, and Widyanta Putra Teja, lost their first three games of the tournament against Estonia (8-22), Latvia (7-22) and Hungary (13-22) before salvaging a morale-boosting win over Mongolia (21-17) in the team’s last game.

On the other hand, the Philippines (ranked 19th in the competition) split their four games in Pool C. After going winless in their first day of competition to Slovenia (14-21) and Serbia (16-21), the squad comprising of Rhon Jhay Abarrientos, Rhayyan Amsali, Jeepy Farundo and Ricci Paolo Rivero went on to win their last two games against Turkmenistan and China before exiting the tournament.
