Mono Vampire Basketball Club of Thailand secures a second-straight appearance in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup after dismantling Pelita Jaya-Indonesia, 78-50, during the last day of the East Inter Sub-zone Qualifiers.

The Thai club completely outclassed the new-look Pelita Jaya squad, finishing the opening quarter with a 20-point cushion, and ending the first half with a 47-19 lead. Mono Vampire never looked back, despite playing their reserves for the most part of the game.

Forward Nopporn Saengtong led Mono Vampire with 14 points and eight boards, while Chitchai Ananti and Tawatchai Suktub added 13 markers each. Returning national team point guard Kannut Samerjai also contributed with a solid outing, finishing with nine points.

Respati Ragil Pamungkas was one of the few bright spots for the young Pelita Jaya team, scoring 10 points. Meanwhile, Daniel Wenas was the only other Indonesian to finish in double figures, but it took him 18 shot attempts (27.8%) to finish with 10 points.

After going undefeated in two games during the qualifiers, Pauian Archiland of Chinese Taipei has also locked in the other slot for the 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup. Both Pauian and Mono Vampire have one previous appearance in the international club championships, with each of them finishing in sixth place in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

The 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup which will be held in a yet-to-be-determined city in China from September 25 to 30.
