Thai-American guard Freddie Goldstein has signed with newcomer CLS Knights Surabaya for the upcoming 2017-2018 season of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) as one of their two ASEAN heritage imports.

Goldstein, who last saw action in the Thai domestic leagues for Madgoat Basketball Club, has experience playing in the ABL for Hitech Bangkok City and Westports Malaysia Dragons in the past. He will join ASEAN basketball legend and team captain Mario Wuysang along with national team sharpshooter Sandy Febiansyakh Kurniawan in the Knights backcourt.

There have been no announcements so far as to who the other heritage import will be to join the 2016 IBL Indonesia Champions by the time the ABL season begins, but it seems likely that Duke Crews will remain as their world import and they will also tap his former college teammate Brian Williams to fill the other slot.

The 2017-2018 season of the ASEAN Basketball Season will commence on November 17.
