The Westports Malaysia Dragons will bring a familiar face into upcoming 2017-2018 season of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), as Filipino swingman Patrick Jan Cabahug is set to return as one of their heritage imports.
Cabahug will bring his veteran leadership and experience to the young Dragons team, having previously played three seasons for them after joining in 2010, before winning an ABL Championship with rival Hitech Bangkok City of Thailand in 2014. Aside from Cabahug, the Dragons has signed former Blackwater Elite (PBA) forward as their other heritage import, while Marcus Marshall and NBA veteran Solomon Jones will serve as their world imports.
Malaysian locals John Ng Yeo Seng, Loh Shee Fai, Kuek Tian Yuan, Ivan Yeo, Teo Kok Hou, Wong Yi Hou, Ting Chung Hong, Heng Yee Tong, Phan Wee Chen will likely join the team when they open their season on the road against Mono Vampire on November 25.
