Fubon Braves continue to strengthen their local lineup by signing guard Oscar Lin as their newest player.
The newest ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) team announced the signing through their social media pages. Lin is a 6-foot-1 swingman who is able to play at both guard positions, joining Joe Lin and Lin Chih-Chieh in the backcourt.
As a former U18 player for Chinese Taipei, Lin paused his career shortly and went to Australia to work. However, he suffered a horrific ACL injury while in Australia before coming back to Taiwan after five years.
Lin came back and led Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology to win the University Basketball Association (UBA) championship. Lin’s stellar performance all season long also earned himself the Final’s MVP award. He averaged 9.2 points and 4 boards during his college career.
The 25-year-old attracted national team’s attention, and had him included in Chinese Taipei White Team in recently ended Jones Cup 2019. Several national team seniors, including Ray Chen have got high praises on their young guard, especially his aggressiveness and size advantage on the guard position.
Lin will be looking to learn as much as possible besides his veteran teammates, especially high-profile star ‘The Beast” Lin. The ABL rookie also revealed his desire to prove himself in the official team announcement.
