Filipino-Canadian guard AJ Mandani has signed with the Singapore Slingers as their lone heritage import for the upcoming season of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).

Mandani most recently played for Thai General Equipment in the Thailand Basketball League (TBL) and has also had stints on PEA and Madgoat clubs in the Thailand Basketball Super League (TBSL).

The 5’11” point guard guard is a six-year Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) veteran, last appearing for the Mahindra/Kia franchise in 2016.

Mandani will replace former Slingers heritage import Josh Urbiztondo, who joined Alab Pilipinas earlier this month. He joins world imports Xavier Alexander and Ryan Wright along with a core of Singapore national team members as the team will try to crack the ABL finals for a third consecutive time.

The Singapore Slingers will open the 2017-2018 ABL season on the road against new team Nanhai Long Lions on November 17 in Foshan City, China.
