Satria Muda Pertamina held a press conference at Fairmont Hotel Jakarta to announce the official return of reigning Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) MVP Arki Dikania Wisnu to the team after signing a four-year extension to remain with the 2017 finalists.

The 29-year old New Yorker has won both Finals MVP awards in the two Indonesian championships he has won with Satria Muda and was also a member of the 2012 ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) champion Indonesia Warriors.

Prior to the confirmation, there had been rumors about the six-year pro considering a transfer to CLS Knights Surabaya to join his good friend and Indonesian national team running mate Mario Wuysang as they are set to play in the ABL this November.

Just a week ago, Christian Ronaldo Sitepu also decided to sign a contract extension with SM Pertamina for two more years. Widely regarded as one of Indonesia’s best big men, he was likewise baited with lucrative offers from other clubs during his free agency, but ultimately decided to resign with the team that helped him win seven Indonesian championships since joining them in 2006.

Wisnu and Sitepu rejoin fellow national team members Kevin Yonas Sitorus and Hardianus Lakudu to form the core of the team, while Dior Lowhorn and Kevin Bridgewaters will serve as their import reinforcements.

Satria Muda Pertamina will open the 2017-2018 IBL season on their home floor on the 8th of December at Mahaka Square, Jakarta City, Indonesia.
