The Saigon Heat have finally announced that they have signed 6’8” Tavarion Nix. Tavarion Nix is set to make a return to the Vietnam Basketball Association (VBA), but with a different team after finishing an outstanding 2016 VBA season with the Can Tho Catfish.
For being a versatile, stretch 4 forward, Tavarion is a perfect fit for the Saigon Heat’s small ball system and fast pace that coach Kyle Julius has developed in the previous ABL season. Tavarion can be a dangerous offensive threat by averaging amazing numbers, 18 points, 15.8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.9 blocks per game.

He lead the league in rebounding and also was a defensive anchor. With Nix’s stellar defensive skills, it will surely help the Saigon Heat with their undersize team. Even though Tavarion Nix is undersize for the Forward/Center position, he has to be matchup against the lights of MVP Jaywuan Hill, DPOY DeAngelo Hamilton, and many more experienced players. As for Nix, he is more mobile on the floor, has the mentality to score, and has the full package to spread the floor and attack the paint.

Tavarion Nix has also confirmed via Instagram that he will be joining the Saigon Heat for the upcoming VBA season. He’s is excited and ready to take Saigon Heat to the next level, and finally the ultimate goal, winning the VBA championship.

Saigon Heat’s first preseason kick-off will be a matchup against the Can Tho Catfish home arena on May 31, 2018.
