Perlas Pilipinas guard Janine Pontejos will participate in the Shoot-Out Contest as part of 2018 FIBA 3X3 World Cup individual competitions.
Pontejos made nine out of 20 two-point shot attempts in the competition, including hitting 5/7 against Spain. She qualified for the final round after making six out of ten shot attempts during the Shoot-out Contest qualifying round.
China’s Jiaying Jiang also made six shots in the qualifier, but her 30-second finish is slower than Pontejos’ 22 seconds. Pontejos will face off against Alexandra Stolyar (Russia), Maksim Dybovskii (Russia), and Marin Hrvoje (Croatia) in the Final Round.
During the final round, the players will attempt 18 shots from four different locations: five each from the right and left wings, five from the top of the arc, and three from the 3×3 logo. Those made from around the arc are worth 1 point, while shots from the 3×3 logo are worth 2 points.
The FIBA 3X3 World Cup Shoot-Out Contest Final will commence at 1430H at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
