Macau is getting their first ever professional basketball team after Chong Son Kung Fu, the top seeded team in the previous ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) season, moved the franchise from their previous home base of Foshan, China.

The new team will be known as the Macau Black Bears, and is set feature some of the best talents from Macau, with some of these players had already been training with Kung Fu last season. Sudden changes of rules also limited Chinese players who registered with the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) to play in ABL.

Some of the potential players reported to be suiting up for Macau Black Bears include Lao Chon Pong (劉晉邦), Lai Ka Tong (黎家棟), Lo Hip Meng (羅協銘), and Un Kam Chi (袁錦志).

Lukas Pang, the franchise general manager is hopeful the establishment of this team will inspire more young kids to play and love the game.

We will report further updates about the squad when new information is made available.
