The CLS Knights add Indonesian-American guard Brandon Jawato for the upcoming season of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).

Jawato, who last played for the Pelita Jaya-Jakarta team in the 2016 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) season, announced his signing with the Surabaya-based club team for the 2018-2019 ABL season on his social media account.

“I want to thank (CLS Knights managing partner) Christopher Tanuwidjaja, staff and organization for giving me this opportunity and believing in my talents. I am looking forward to being the best I can be for my team,” said Jawato in his announcement. “To my friends, fans, followers, you people are awesome. I hope I can motivate you to be the best version of yourself. I am so grateful.”

The former University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will be joining current CLS Knights standouts such as Indonesian national team members Sandy Kurniawan and Kaleb Ramot Gemilang. The team has yet to sign their import players.

Indonesia’s lone representative to the regional league recently lost two of their key players after they reached a buyout with Indonesian-Filipino guard Ebrahim ‘Biboy’ Enguio, and with Indonesian legend Mario Wuysang announcing his retirement both from international and professional play.

The ninth season ASEAN Basketball League is set to return in November.
