The Negeri Sembilan Basketball Association (NSBA) (one of the state associations of Malaysia Basketball Association) is set to organize it’s first ever pocket tournament, the Malaysia Hoops Challenge) with international teams from the 12th to 16th of September 2018 at MABA Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

The participants of the tournament will be:-

 

NS Matrix  (Malaysia)

NSBA’s very own club team which has won the premier all locals championship, the Agong Cup twice in a row since 2016. NS Matrix has also been tasked with managing the Malaysian National Team for FIBA competitions for 2018 by virtue of being the defending Agong Cup Champions. NS Matrix will look to use the tournament as part of the National Team’s preparations for the next window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Pre Qualifiers scheduled for November 2018

KL Dragons (Malaysia)

No strangers to the ASEAN basketball scene, the 2015/2016 ASEAN Basketball League champions will look to use the tournament as part of their pre season preparations for the upcoming ABL season. The tournament will be new head coach, Jamie Pearlman’s first assignment as he looks to familiarize himself with his new team

Red Baron (Malaysia)

A relatively new club to the Malaysian basketball scene, Red Baron has set its sight in establishing themselves in the Malaysian basketball scene. The team finished fifth in the recently concluded Malaysia Pro League Development and represented Malaysia at the recent SEABA Champions Cup.

CLS Knights  (Indonesia)

Coming off their debut ABL season where the team missed out on playoffs qualification, the CLS Knights will look to use the Malaysia Hoops Challenge as part of the pre season preparations for their second ABL season. It has been reported that CLS will participate in the tournament with an all locals line up.

Adroit (Singapore)

Adroit from Singapore are no strangers to the Singapore basketball scene, having represented Singapore in two Thailand Basketball Super League (TBSL) seasons. Adroit are also currently competing in the Singapore ICBC NBL League, where they are currently second in the standings.

WA SBL All Stars (Australia)

A team made up of the best players currently playing in the State Basketball League, a semi professional basketball league based in Western Australia.
