recently released its latest list of the world’s top mixed martial artists which consists of the top 25 athletes in their respective weight classes.

The February 2019 edition features three Filipino names from three various divisions – flyweight, bantamweight and lightweight, all heralding from one stable.

Included in the elite list are ONE’s flyweight brawler Danny “King” Kingad, bantamweight champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, and lightweight champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang.

Climbing eight spots from his previous ranking, Danny Kingad solidified himself as the number 10 ranked flyweight when he defeated Tatsumitsu Wada by unanimous decision last month at ONE: Hero’s Ascent. He will have a chance to climb even higher up the list once the ONE Flyweight Grand Prix takes place.

Belingon, who is ranked second overall among bantamweights and is preparing for a trilogy fight with Bibiano Fernandes (ranked third) next month, claimed his standing among the division’s elite by riding a 6-fight win streak, capped off by a wonderful performance last November when he defeated Fernandes via split decision at ONE: Heart of the Lion.

Meanwhile, Eduard Folayang currently sits just outside of the lightweight’s top 10 at the 11th spot. The “Landslide” claimed ONE’s vacant lightweight championship back in November 2018, when he defeated Singapore’s Amir Khan in a unanimous decision at ONE: Conquest of Champions.

Despite enduring a rough start to 2019 with Joshua Pacio losing the ONE strawweight title to Yosuke Saruta and Geje Eustaquio being bested by Adriano Moraes in a ONE flyweight championship showdown, Team Lakay remains as the Philippines’ premier MMA gym and one of the top teams in the world.
