ONE Championship has announced its full bout card for its second mixed martial arts installment to be held in the Philippines this year and has called upon four local heroes.
Joshua Pacio, Edward and Eric Kelly, and Ramon Gonzales should enjoy the luxury of a partisan crowd on their side as they headline ONE Championship’s second Manila event on April 12 inside of the Mall of Asia Arena.
Spearheading the spectacle is former ONE Strawweight Champion Joshua Pacio, who will be aiming to reclaim the title in a rematch with Yosuke Saruta as the card’s co-main event.
The “Passion” is looking to exact revenge on the Japanese champion after losing to him in a controversial split decision result in January.
Edward Kelly, Pacio’s Team Lakay teammate, is also slated to see action when he faces off against South Korea’s Sung Jung Lee. After suffering a defeat at the hands of Christian Lee in his last fight, a victory in Manila should help bring some good mojo as he gets back to his winning ways.
Meanwhile, Edward’s brother Eric, “The Natural,” who last won in 2015, is craving a victory which could overhaul his current five-match skid when he meets China’s Tang Kai in a featherweight clash.
Lastly, Ramon “The Bicolano” Gonzales is scheduled to face Japan’s Akihiro Fujisawa in a strawweight tussle which if he were to be victorious, would continue his 2-fight win streak.
The night will also mark the return of featherweight king Martin “Situ-Asian” Nguyen. Nguyen is coming off an injury and slated in a bout against former division champion Narantungalag Jadambaa in the card’s other co-main event.
