Thailand’s Rodtang Jitmuangnon snatched the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship over United Kingdom’s Jonathan Haggerty in an action packed co-main event at ONE: Dawn of Heroes.

Living up to his martial arts monicker the ‘Iron Man’, Rodtang masterfully operated on Haggerty despite his slow start in the match.

Rodtang was bullied by the front kicks that Haggerty were throwing at him in the early going but just like any mechanical machines, Rodtang just needed to heat things up and got back at the ‘General’.

The Thai superstar’s ferocious and powerful hand strikes proved too much to handle for Haggerty as the Brit was troubled a number of times in the latter rounds. In fact it was highlighted by a right handed bomb that dropped Haggerty in the 4th round.

And it was enough for the Rodtang to claim the title and reign supreme in the Muay Thai Flyweight division.

“Today, I am very happy, I am very glad of my performance. To fight for the world title is something every athlete has dreams of and today I made it. To all of my fans, my family, my supporters in Thailand, I tried to train more harder than ever.. I will keep training hard. Thank you, thank you for your support”, Rodtang stated through an interpreter in the post fight interview.
