Joshua “Passion” Pacio’s first title defense scheduled for ONE: Eternal Glory on January 19, 2019 will see him fight Yosuke Saruta instead of Hayato Suzuki at Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Due to an injury, Suzuki will have to wait a little longer before facing off against Pacio after he had to withdraw from their scheduled bout at ONE Championship’s curtain-opening event for 2019.

Despite the unfortunate turn of events, another Japanese fighter has stepped into the shoes of Suzuki to fill the void. Yosuke Saruta is now slated to face off against Strawweight Champion Joshua Pacio.

The “Tobizaru” made his name known in his ONE Championship debut on December 7 when he dominated ex-strawweight king Alex “Little Rock” Silva in three rounds to earn a unanimous decision victory to improve his professional record to 18 wins, eight defeats, and three draws.

The Filipino champion will be putting his crown at stake for the first after claiming a unanimous win over Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito at ONE: Conquest of Heroes in September.
